This song describes the combined journeys of its two writers: Heather Hill and Chris Assaad. Both had unfulfilling journeys outside of music and both experienced health problems. Fortunately they both took great risks, changed their lives, and pursued what they loved: music. Second Chance is about taking the road less travelled and taking the time to listen to the voice within.

This song has an easiness akin to Jack Johnson’s music with hints of Brian Eno in the guitar work.
